The Oceanside Generals were very busy Friday afternoon making a trio of moves.
The Generals first sent Forward Jory Swanson to the Nanaimo Buccaneers for Defenceman Trey Boylan. Swanson (01′) is in his second season in the VIJHL and has 15 points in 25 games so far this season. Boylan (01′) who hails from the Harbour City is in his rookie season in the VIJHL and has 5 points in 22 games with the Buccaneers this season.
The next move seen the Generals add to their Forward group by acquiring Garett Gilbertson from the Peninsula Panthers for a Player Development Fee. Gilberston (00′) who is from Sooke is a rookie and has 5 points in 11 games with the Panthers this season.
The last move of the day seen the Generals add Zach Blanchard (00′) on the back end. The Nanaimo product was acquired from the North Okanagan Knights of the KIJHL for a Player Development Fee.
Generals Head Coach Dan Lemmon on the moves;
“Were pretty happy on how everything has transpired over the last 48 hours. We’re getting guys in that have good character and younger guys that work hard. These guys will have an immediate impact on our team and they will get lots of opportunities with us. I think all three guys are going to help out our team now and in the future. Kudos to General Manager Andrew Riddell who has been working the phones pretty hard and putting in some time. We’re really happy going forward and looking to turn this thing around.”
