VIJHL Player of the Week – James Brendeland

PARKSVILLE, B.C –  Oceanside Generals Goaltender James Brendeland has been named the VIJHL Player of the Week.

James was brilliant last week stopping 67 of the 72 shots he faced in two games. He also picked up his third shutout of the season in a 2-0 win over Campbell River on Saturday.

James currently leads the league in shutouts (3) and in save percentage (.934). He sits second in wins (9) and third in goals-against-average (2.18).

“James is committed everyday to improve both on and off the ice. James is a leader in our room and is a calming influence when he’s in the crease” said Generals HC Dan Lemmon.

The Generals will play two games this week, Thursday in Nanaimo and Friday at home against Comox
